Privacy Policy
A quick word about who we are
This page sets out, in plain English, what we do with the information you share when you contact us about a concrete levelling enquiry. To carry out the work we sometimes pass your enquiry to a vetted specialist company operating in your area.
Information we collect from you
When you submit a form, call us, or email us, we typically collect:
- your name
- your phone number and email address
- your postcode or rough address (so we can match you to the right local specialist)
- anything you choose to tell us in the message field
We also collect a small amount of technical information automatically, your IP address, the type of browser and device you're using, the pages you viewed and where you arrived from. This is standard for any website and helps us keep things working and prevent abuse.
Why we're allowed to handle this information
Under the UK GDPR (Article 6) we rely on two lawful bases:
- Your consent. When you tick the box / submit the form having read the consent notice above the submit button, you're agreeing to your details being passed to one or more qualified specialist companies in your area. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Your rights" below).
- Our legitimate interests in operating this site, for example, handling your enquiry, replying to questions, preventing fraudulent submissions, and improving how the site works. We've considered the impact this has on you, and we believe it is minimal because the information is only ever used for the reason you sent it.
What we actually do with it
- Match your enquiry with one or more qualified specialist companies in your area.
- Reply to you about your enquiry.
- Stop spam, fraud and abusive submissions.
- Look at how people use the site so we can make it better.
- Send you marketing, but only if you've explicitly asked us to.
Who else sees your information
We share enquiry details with the following categories of recipient:
- Qualified specialist companies in your area, once we pass your enquiry on, that company becomes an independent data controller for the information we sent them, and they will contact you directly about your enquiry.
- Service providers we use to run the site, hosting, email delivery, customer relationship management software and analytics. These are processors acting only on our instructions.
We never sell your data, and we never share it with anyone outside the categories above.
International transfers
Some of the processors we use (for example certain analytics or email tools) may store data outside the UK or EEA. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by either an adequacy decision or by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), so your information continues to receive equivalent protection.
How long we keep it
Enquiry information is retained for up to 24 months from the date you submit it. We keep it that long so we can investigate any complaint about an introduction we made, and so we can respond if you come back to us about the same project. After that it's deleted.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You can ask us to:
- show you what information we hold about you (right of access);
- correct anything that's wrong (rectification);
- delete your information (erasure);
- limit what we do with it (restriction);
- send it to you or another controller in a portable format (portability);
- stop processing it (objection); and
- withdraw any consent you've given us at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, get in touch through our contact form. If you're not happy with how we've handled things, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of cookies to keep the site running, measure how it's used, and understand which marketing is working. We don't drop advertising cookies without consent. If you'd rather not be tracked, your browser's privacy settings let you control or block cookies entirely.
Children
This service is intended for adults arranging work on a property they're responsible for. It is not directed at anyone under 16.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect what you send us, encrypted connections, access controls, and processors with appropriate security in place. No system is ever 100% secure, but we treat your information seriously.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we'll update this page. There's no need to keep checking, but it's there if you ever want to.
Getting in touch about your data
The fastest way to reach us about anything privacy-related is via our contact form. Drop us a line and we'll come back to you.
